If a Dangerous Criminal was trying to break into your home, would you be able to protect yourself?
That’s exactly what a homeowner in Texas did recently when a convicted violent criminal was trying to get into her house.
The homeowner, who was inside the residence, say she was startled by loud noises coming from her garage and realized someone was trying to break-in from the garage door.
The resident then retrieved a firearm to defend herself and held the suspect at gunpoint until Sheriff’s deputies arrived and made an arrest.
Brooks, who has an extensive criminal history, was arrested and charged with a 2nd Degree Felony, Burglary of Habitation and is currently being held in the Washington County jail on $100,000.00 bond.
A shot was not fired, and nobody was hurt, which is actually typical of most instances of gun owners acting in self defence. The attempted crime was resolved peacefully, thanks to the responsible gun owner. If she had not been armed, this story would probably not have had such a happy ending.
